Seminole County Bar Association Legal Aid Society Inc.
Our organization was established in 1975 to provide free, quality legal services to the low income residents of Seminole County in civil matters. Unlike criminal cases poor persons are not entitled to free services of an attorney to help them with serious civil matters. For low income families access to justice often is elusive or even unattainable. Our office seeks to remedy this situation by providing legal workshops, legal consultations, and legal representation to the economically disadvantaged in Seminole County. We help veterans, women suffering from domestic abuse, families of seriously ill children, and others who because of economic hardship cannot afford legal aid. We believe that our community is at its best when the lives of the economically disadvantaged are improved. Our staff partners with local volunteer attorneys, legal professionals, law/college students, and a devoted board of directors to improve the quality of life and enhance the self-sufficiency of the people we serve. When we work together for justice we thrive as a community.
